Prepping Your Home for Sale: Why First Impressions Matter

Selling your home is a big step—and first impressions can make or break your sale. As a top real estate agent, I’ve helped hundreds of sellers get the most out of their home by starting with the basics: prep.

What Is Prepping Your Home?
It’s all about getting your home “show ready.” That means decluttering, cleaning, making small repairs, and staging your space so buyers can picture themselves living there.

Why It’s Important
Homes that show well sell faster—and for more money. Buyers decide how they feel about your home in the first 60 seconds. That first impression? It’s everything.

What’s Involved
Start by walking through your home like a buyer would. Remove excess furniture, fix anything broken, touch up the paint, and deep clean. Staging key rooms like the living room, kitchen, and primary bedroom can also make a huge difference.

How to Do It
Don’t stress! I walk my sellers through this every time. You can start small—one room at a time. I also bring in staging experts if needed to make sure your home makes an impact from day one.
